Our Team

Dr. David Umansky earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas in Austin, where he majored in English literature and minored in biochemistry, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with high honors. He earned his dental degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, ranking eighth in his class of 60 students. Dr. Umansky also completed a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery, receiving advanced training in tooth impactions, pre-prosthetic surgery, IV sedation, oral trauma, oral pathology, treatment of oral diseases and dental implants. His professional achievements include mastership status at the Academy of General Dentistry and a membership in the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, both highly exclusive due to the level of CE courses and academic achievement required. He is also a fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Umansky’s drive to acquire top-level knowledge and skills of dentistry has earned him several scholarships and positions on the dean’s List. He continues to pursue dentistry with the same ambition, achieving over 1,500 hours of continuing dental education to date and striving to provide his patients with the best possible care.

He and his wife, Angela, have been married for over 20 years and have a son named Ben. Dr. Umansky’s pastimes include fishing with his son, spending time with family and perfecting his barbecue skills.

Amanda became a member of the Aesthetic Dentistry Associates team in 2011, and she loves being here! She loves how everyone’s first and foremost goal is our patients’ satisfaction, and how we all work together to ensure that we not only meet but exceed our patients’ expectations. Amanda ensures that she does her part to help our team and practice achieve success. Amanda also joins her co-workers in regular continuing education courses to ensure that they remain up to date with the latest changes and advances in dentistry.

Amanda has been happily married for over 20 years. She has a son, Nico, who is in college and a daughter, Victoria, who is a junior in high school. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys watching baseball and traveling.

Mercedes joined the team in December 2017. She graduated from Cleveland High School and attended Lonestar College in Kingwood. She completed Houston Dental Assistant School (RDIA) and has been a dental assistant since 2010. Mercedes works tirelessly to ensure our patients have clear, complete treatment plans to ensure each patient understands how to achieve their best smile possible. She enjoys working with a team where everyone works together as a cohesive unit.

Outside of the practice, Mercedes enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends and family. She prides herself on continuing to stay updated with her training as well as providing great customer service. She really enjoys educating our patients about their oral health and treatment options.

Doreen joined the team in 2012, focusing on patient accounts. She enjoys working with a great team of professionals whose goal is to create the best patient experience possible. She loves working with dentists who are eager to meet the needs of their patients and make them a part of their extended family.

Doreen has been married since 2017 and enjoys spending quality time with her three kids.

Devani has been a part of the Aesthetic Dentistry Associates team since 2015, and she is hoping to complete her bachelor’s degree in business. Since joining our practice, Devani’s co-workers have become her second family. She loves the atmosphere and being able to learn something new each day. Devani works hard to provide excellent customer service and strives to keep our patients happy and smiling.

Family is the most important thing to Devani, as her family members have pushed her to be successful and support her in everything that she does. When she is not working, Devani’s favorite thing to do is travel, especially to the beach. She loves bumming along the Gulf!

Cheryl has been with Aesthetic Dentistry Associates since 1991. She received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Texas A&M University. Cheryl loves her patients and seeing all of the advancements in technology that are happening in dentistry.

Cheryl was born in Beaumont, Texas, and she has lived in Kingwood for the last 20 years. She has been married to the love of her life, Keith, for over 30 years, and they have three amazing children, their son Jared and their twins, Kyle and Abbie. Cheryl is a sports enthusiast, especially when it comes to Aggie football. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and friends.

Sandy has been working in the dental field for more than 30 years! She received her degree from Caruth School of Dental Hygiene in 1963 and has been a part of our practice since 1999. In addition, Sandy has spent 25 years working in the periodontics field. With so many years of experience, Sandy contributes greatly to our practice, and she loves it! To her, Aesthetic Dentistry Associates is a wonderful place to work because it is fun and the team is “top notch.”

Sandy has been happily married for over 54 years and has two grown sons. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and quilting.

Esmeralda has been a registered dental assistant for more than 25 years and joined the Aesthetic Dentistry Associates team in October of 2013. She received her degree from Astrodome Dental in Houston, Texas, in 1994. She is also certified to treat patients with dental sealants and nitrous oxide, and to perform coronal polishing treatments. Esmeralda loves what she does because she loves taking care of patients, assisting in sedations and learning about new available technology. She is also bilingual.

Esmeralda was born in Merced, California. She has been married for over 20 years, and she has two daughters. In her free time, Esmeralda enjoys being with her family.

Mignon is originally from South Africa, and she has over 20 years of experience in being a dental assistant. She continues her education by taking courses each year, ensuring that her dental knowledge remains fresh and up to date. Since joining our practice in December of 2014, Mignon has learned a lot of new procedures and feels like she has grown with the practice. She, along with the rest of our team, is 100% dedicated to our patients and wants to help make a difference in their dental experiences. Mignon brings a good attitude, a brilliant smile and a devoted work ethic every day. She helps our patients have a better understanding of what is happening with their treatment by explaining procedures and helping them feel more comfortable. She enjoys working with a team of dental professionals who work well as a team and can rely on each other in any situation.

Mignon still has a lot of family in South Africa. Her husband, Bryan, and her two sons are with her here in Atascocita, Texas, as well as an amazing daughter-in-law. She enjoys spending time with family, especially her grandson and granddaughter. When she is not in the office, Mignon enjoys having barbeques with friends and family, going to the beach, taking road trips, and listening to music.

Darunee joined our practice in December 2016, and she is a certified and registered dental assistant in Texas. Darunee is a hard worker, and she brings her best smile every day. She has a way of helping our patients and making them feel comfortable during their treatment. To Darunee, one of the best parts of working at Aesthetic Dentistry Associates is the good, helpful team and the family-like atmosphere.

Darunee is happily married, and she has one brother and one sister. In her free time, she enjoys travelling and playing sports, including golf, badminton and biking.
